Why not join us one Sunday morning? We meet every week at 10.30am for an informal and relaxed service. Absolutely everyone is welcome, whether you are a “church person” or not. If you have a strong faith, or no faith at all, you will find a warm welcome at Colwell Baptist.
We meet to worship Jesus through singing (a mixture of both modern and more traditional songs and hymns), in prayer, and through talks based on what God says in the Bible. Everything is free, including drinks and refreshments which are served after every service.
Children and families...
We love to welcome families with children and seek to be a child-friendly church. Children and teenagers are invited to join our dedicated children’s group, “Lighthouse”, from about ten minutes into the service. This group meets in the back hall and enjoys a mixture of fun activities including games, quizzes, competitions and prayer.
All our Lighthouse leaders are appropriately trained and have enhanced DBS checks.
We don’t run a Sunday school to “teach children Christianity”, but try to give children the space to be church together, as children. So this group involves worship, prayer and teaching – but in ways that are relevant and accessible to children.
